The Salmon River trailhead is well-known in Oregon for the number of mushrooms you can spot while hiking. Today Allie and I invited our close friends Shelby and Jeff along for a mushroom hunting daytrip to the Salmon river. After several hours of exploring and foraging along the sides of the trail we had found two varieties of edible mushrooms, half a dozen varieties of possibly-edible mushroom species, and more than a dozen definitely-inedible or poisonous mushrooms.
I had my camera out the entire hike and took plenty of pictures along the way.
